Dyscalculia Screening and Tutoring in London or online
“With Hania’s incredible patience and special way of teaching, she has remarkably supported my daughter in lifting her from being in a place of no confidence and not understanding maths to a child who ‘gets’ maths and is managing to keep up.”

Making maths accessible with tailored support
Helping children make sense of numbers and grow in confidence.
For children with dyscalculia, maths difficulties or maths anxiety, I provide a calm, supportive environment where they can explore numbers at their own pace. Together, we rebuild confidence and develop strategies that work for their unique way of thinking.
My Approach
I understand how daunting mathematics can feel for children with dyscalculia – and how it can impact their self-esteem. My approach includes:
Screening - my first step is always to assess the child to see where they need the most support using an informal diagnostic assessment.
Multi-sensory and hands-on – using colourful resources such as Cuisenaire rods, peg boards and games to bring mathematical concepts to life.
Relaxed and encouraging – no tests or pressure, just a chance to learn and grow in a positive setting.
Tailored to your child’s needs – whether they are revisiting key foundations or building practical skills for everyday life.
How Sessions Work
Assessment for Intervention
A thorough informal diagnostic assessment of a learner’s current maths knowledge and understanding is essential in order to plan and implement a successful personalised programme of work. A structured method that uses a range of fun, interactive tools in a supportive and relaxed setting.
The assessment includes:
A range of screening tools to give you a detailed insight about the learner’s strengths and weaknesses, and their approach to working out the answers.
Emphasis on: number sense, place value and the number system, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division and where appropriate, fractions, decimals, percentages, shape and space and time.
Identification of specific gaps in knowledge and whether the learner is showing any symptoms of dyscalculia.
A clear intervention plan for the learner’s next steps.
Weekly Sessions
Once we have a support plan, I offer weekly sessions of 55 minutes to support your child where they need it most.
In Person or Online
In person –at my home-based teaching space in London.
Online – using BitPaper and other maths resources that make remote learning engaging, fun and convenient.
Both options offer the same engaging and supportive approach to help your child learn.
Therapy Dog Support
Mishka, my trained therapy dog, is here to help create a calm and welcoming atmosphere. Many children love having her nearby during lessons – she’s a gentle, reassuring presence.
